Homily from the Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time.

“Every one of us is standing in front of a block of marble known as “The Rest of Your Life”. I don’t care how old you are. Everyone of us is standing in front of a block of marble that is the rest of your life. And the question is this: do you have a vision for what you want that block of marble to look like when you’re done? Michaelangelo carved David in 3 to 5 years, he took away everything that wasn’t supposed to be there. If I lived the next 3 to 5 years the same way I lived these last 7 days, will my life look like the vision I have for my life?”
