“I choose to give to Newman Catholic Campus Ministry because it brought me from a non-practicing Catholic to a Catholic who knows and loves their faith. I am now going to daily Mass and love learning more about my faith. I know the number of lives that Newman transforms each semester and I know that the money that I donate is being used to save souls. That is why I choose to donate to Newman.”

– Mitchell Woitalla, UMD Class of 2012

“We give to Newman Catholic Campus Ministries because we believe that college campuses are a place where young people are primed and ready to receive the Gospel and truth.  We both were profoundly impacted by our involvement with Newman CCM during our time at UMD.  We didn’t choose to go to UMD because of the strong Catholic community there, but it turned out to be the most important aspect of our college years.  We both experienced a reawakening and deepening of our faith lives.  We met a lot of life-long friends through Newman.  Not to mention, we (Kally and I) did meet each other in Praise Band!

For a couple years after we graduated when we were still involved with Newman, we saw a continual increase in the number of people that would attend weekend and daily Masses, bible studies, and service events.  We saw more and more young lives turned to God and His Holy Will.  Through our prayers and our financial support we desire to help set the whole UMD campus, and eventually the whole world, ablaze with the love of Christ.”

When my Wife and I met our Freshman year through Newman we both experienced a deepening of the Faith through the Thursday night Mass and dinners, Holy Hour opportunities, living in household with other Newman goers, confession, and the numerous talks and events Fr. Mike and Newman put together. Our first date was one of the Bible studies!

One of the most powerful and formative events in our life was a weekend planned by Newman to attend a Theology of the Body seminar. We have been immeasurably enriched by the four years of formation that took place at and through Newman’s encouragement. We married a week after graduation and are raising our three Children to love God. We are still friends with fellow Newmanites and enjoy the Catholic fellowship and encouragement they still provide! Both of us entered college feeling status quo, but we ended up graduating feeling a purpose and a drive to never neglect our spiritual life and to seek out strong communities of faith and fellowship.

During our four years there, many of our friends discerned a calling to the Priesthood, religious life or to the vocation of marriage. And knowing from Fr. Mike, the number of students being led to conversion to the Faith, as well as more vocations, is incredible. This is a wonderful opportunity to give to a small, focused and holy group that is bearing much fruit for the Church.
