Why did you choose UMD for college?
Duluth is a beautiful city with lots of urban amenities but also plenty of beautiful hiking trails to explore. Plus, we have an amazing Catholic community.
What is your favorite part about being a part of the BulldogCatholic community?
Each and every person is incredibly friendly and genuinely wants to get to know you and that leads to many authentic friendships. Fr. Mike also gives us so much of his time and attention to build a strong pastoral connection.
Why should someone come to a Bulldog Catholic event?
Three reasons: typically we have free food, you will meet so many amazing and unique people, and every event provides something fruitful whether that be spiritual insight or bonding time with good friends, nothing given to God is ever wasted.
What would you tell a high school senior looking for the right college?
Figure out what you want from a college and tour them, see around the city. If in the end you really can’t decide, flip a coin, you can always transfer
What is the biggest lesson that you have learned while in college?
Say yes to things (within reason) there’s no reason to be sitting around all day and not going on adventures with people. Go bungee jumping, go to a random concert on a whim, and be spontaneous because that’s what makes the best stories.
Who is your favorite Saint and quote from them?
One of my favorite saints is the mystic St. John of the Cross. I love his quote “At the twilight of our lives, we will be judged on love alone.”
What is your “go to” activity to do with you crew?
My go-to activity with friends is finding a hiking trail near water and cliff jumping with them there.
If you had a pet monkey, what would you name him? Why?
If I had a pet monkey I would name him Ronald Kuehn IV because I’m Ronald Kuehn III and I’ve been compared to a monkey plenty of times.
