Welcome Week
During Welcome Week at UMD, we had an amazing time hosting events like the Chicken Party, Bingo Singo, and the Opening Bonfire! Many students, new and old, came to make new friends and learn more about Newman.

Stand-Up Comedy Night🎤
Newman hosted its first ever stand-up comedy show with comedian: Shayne Smith. Over 200 students came together for a night of laughter and community, and also had the opportunity to hear Shayne’s testimony of conversion to the Catholic faith.

Mass at Rock Knob
Our students recently had the opportunity to hike to Rock Knob, where we celebrated Mass, surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation. It was a peaceful and inspiring way to connect with our faith and each other.

First Timers Retreat🙏
Our annual First Timer’s Retreat was a huge success, helping new students grow in faith and community while setting the tone for living their faith throughout college!

âť—Upcoming Eventsâť—
Students are gearing up for homecoming weekend, and the weekly schedule is in full swing with Alpha, a crash course in Christianity, and Mass & Meal happening every week! Parents’ weekend is also coming up, where students and their families will have the opportunity to experience what it’s like to be involved with bulldogCatholic.

Support our ministry!
Your generosity helps us offer retreats, outreach events, daily sacraments, annual conferences and more to college students in the Duluth area. Each of these events work as a bridge to offer the Truth of the Gospel message to young adults. Thank you for making that possible!
Another way to support us is through your prayers. Here are some of our intentions we are offering for our ministry this month:
- That students attending the Upperclassmen Retreat may encounter God in a profound way, finding renewal, clarity, and deeper faith.
- That students may embrace Lent with open hearts, growing in faith through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
- That those on the mission trip to Peru may serve with compassion, encounter Christ in those they meet, and return strengthened in their faith.
