Summer at bulldogCatholic

Summer is here in Duluth! Life around the Newman Center looks slightly different during the academic break, but our ministry is still ever active and present! Here is a glimpse of what your generosity has made possible this month.

Events from This Month

Summer Voyage Nights

For our students who still find themselves in Duluth over summer break, we host our annual Voyage Nights! We gather for daily Mass, followed by a BBQ, a short talk, and then some games and ice cream! It is a great opportunity for our students to stay rooted in the Sacraments and connected in fellowship.

Fr. Mike’s Parables Tour

While our students are on the academic break, Fr. Mike has stayed busy by continuing to fundraise for the future generations at Duluth Newman. Fr. Mike’s Parables Tour includes a 90-minute talk grounded in Scripture and engaging stories that connect faith to everyday life! All proceeds from the tour go to the new Newman Center building project. If interested, you can find more Tour information here!

Jack Has Started!

Duluth Newman has a new team member! We are so excited that Jack Perala has joined our team as the new Director of Development. Jack graduated from the College of St. Scholastica with a degree in Biochemistry. After graduation, he spent three years serving as a missionary with FOCUS here in Duluth! As Development Director, Jack now joyfully invites others to partner in the mission of forming disciples on campus. Want to contact Jack about partnering in this mission? You can email him at jack.perala@bulldogcatholic.org or call at 218-349-3390.

Support the Ministry!

Your generosity helps us offer retreats, outreach events, daily sacraments, annual conferences, and more to college students in the Duluth area. Each of these events work as a bridge to offer the truth of the Gospel message to young adults. Thank you for making that possible!

Another way to support us is through your prayers. Here are some of our intentions we are offering for our ministry this month:

  • For all of the students away on summer break, that they may stay close to Jesus while away from their Duluth community.
  • For all of our graduates who have said yes to being full-time missionaries, that they trust in God’s will as they move to new campuses and begin mission.
  • For Fr. Mike as he travels for diocesan events and fundraising efforts this summer.
