Highlights from the Month

The school year is officially underway, and the past three weeks have been full of energy, new faces, and opportunities to share the Gospel! Fall outreach brought new students through our doors, helped returning students reconnect, and gave us countless opportunities to build relationships and invite students into life at bulldogCatholic. We are so grateful for your continued support, which makes these moments of ministry possible. Thank you for being part of this mission with us!

The Main Event

We kicked off the school year with The Main Event! Students gathered at Newman for an afternoon of games, food, inflatables, and plenty of fun. More than anything, it was a chance to welcome new students, reconnect with returning students, and begin building the friendships and community that make bulldogCatholic feel like home. This new event brought in a couple hundred students the day before classes started!

Spikeball & Watermelon Tournament

Students brought their competitive spirit to our Spikeball & Watermelon Tournament! Between rounds of Spikeball and plenty of watermelon, students spent the afternoon laughing, competing, and getting to know one another. It was a fun way to build community and enjoy one of the last tastes of summer together.

Bingo Singo

Bingo Singo brought students together for a night of music, laughter, and a little friendly competition! Students sang along to their favorite songs, competed for prizes, and had plenty of opportunities to meet new friends and enjoy a night together at Newman.

Upcoming Events

UMD Family Weekend Brunch

UMD Family Weekend is coming up! Following the 10:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, October 4, bulldogCatholic will host a brunch for UMD students and their families in Kirby. We’re looking forward to welcoming families to Duluth and sharing a meal together during Family Weekend.

Fr. Mike’s Parables Tour

Fr. Mike’s Parables Tour is continuing to make its way across the country, and we’re excited to have a few opportunities to catch the tour closer to home!

Join us for a 90-minute talk filled with Scripture, storytelling, and practical insights that connect the Gospel to everyday life. Even better, all proceeds from the tour will support the new Newman Center building project.

Support the Ministry!

Your generosity helps us offer retreats, outreach events, daily sacraments, annual conferences, and more to college students in the Duluth area. Each of these events work as a bridge to offer the truth of the Gospel message to young adults. Thank you for making that possible!

Another way to support us is through your prayers. Here are some of our intentions we are offering for our ministry this month:

  • For all the students who attended our outreach events, that they may come back in search of relationship with the Lord and His Church.
  • For our student missionaries as they invite students to participate in a Bible study.
  • For bulldogCatholic staff and FOCUS missionaries as they do all they can to serve the college students in Duluth.
