Homily from the Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time.
“There’s something great about belonging to a Republic of virtue. It means this, it means your citizenry, they will work hard. They will be honest. They will persevere. They will be generous. But it also means that when you push them, they will push back. It means that your citizenry will not be a citizenry of subjects, but a citizenry of power and of strength. We may be called to choose Christ before our nation, Jesus before our country.”
