Expected Graduation: 2024
Major: Integrated Elementary and Special Education
What’s your major and your expected graduation?
I am an integrated elementary and special education major and will graduate in 2024!
What are your hobbies/interests?
I love to read and go hiking and exploring around Duluth. If you’re bored here you’re not looking hard enough!
Why did you choose UMD for college?
I initially chose UMD because I fell in love with Lake Superior and for their education program, but I fell in love with the city and the community and couldn’t imagine myself going to school anywhere else!
What is your favorite part about being a part of the BulldogCatholic community?
My favorite part of being a part of the UMD community is the palpable joy that it radiates. Joyful truly is the best word to describe this group of people. What’s even better is that when you look to the root of all this joy and peace is that the center is Christ. Jesus is the cause for all this love!
Why should someone come to a Bulldog Catholic event?
You should come to a Bulldog Catholic event because this community has so much love to offer! I found some of my best friends by coming to Bulldog Catholic events and Jesus revealed His merciful heart to me through the love this entire community showed me.
What would you tell a high school senior looking for the right college?
I would tell a senior looking for secondary schooling to do their research on what is important to them. If academics is your #1 find a school that will cater to that, and if community is #1 find somewhere that will cater to that. In the end the most important thing is to follow the peace that Jesus puts into your heart. Continually pursue our Lord in all you do, having a community that aids in that pursuit is not a bad idea.
What is the biggest lesson that you have learned while in college?
The biggest lesson I have learned in college is to think about myself less. It gives so much more room to care about and for those people around you who need it the most.
Who is your favorite Saint and quote from them?
“We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature – trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence… We need silence to be able to touch souls.” – Mother Teresa
If you could shrink any animal to puppy-size, what animal would you own?
If I could shrink any animal to the size of a puppy I would shrink a moose. I don’t have a specific reason for it, but I think a tiny moose would be crazy level cute.
What’s the most useless talent you have?
My most useless talent is that I can do a mourning dove call through my hands. This could be useful, but I have never successfully had a conversation with a mourning dove making this talent not super impractical.
