What are your hobbies/interests?
I love to read, play games, especially volleyball and spike ball, and being outdoors. I also enjoy trying new restaurants and coffee shops.
Why did you choose UMD for college?
I chose UMD because I really like the outdoors and city so close to each other, and I heard they had a great education program, as well as a great Newman center.
What is your favorite part about being a part of the BulldogCatholic community?
My favorite part about being in the BulldogCatholic community is that I am not so afraid of what people think of me, and know that I have friends to grow with in my faith.
Why should someone come to a Bulldog Catholic event?
People should come to the BulldogCatholic events to form real friendships that center on what is really important in life: a relationship with Jesus Christ.
What would you tell a Senior in high school who is looking for the right college?
If I were to give advice to a senior in high school, I would tell them not to worry about finding the “perfect” school, but a school where they know they can find a supportive community that shares the same values as them and also challenges them to be the best version of themselves.
What is the biggest lesson that you have learned while in college?
The biggest lesson I have learned in college is to make plans and learn how to do stuff yourself. Don’t be afraid to fix a desk, cook a meal, or plan a trip! Take initiative and challenge yourself. Also, be patient with others, but also yourself. Do not be afraid to run back to the Lord, He created you knowing each sin you would commit and died on the cross so you could receive His Mercy.
Who is your favorite Saint and quote from them?
My favorite saint is St. John Paul the Great; “What really matters in life is that we are loved by Christ and that we love Him in return. In comparison to the love of Jesus, everything else is secondary. And, without the love of Jesus, everything is useless.”
If you could have one song play every time you entered a room what would it be, and why?
If I could have one song play every time I entered a room it would be (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher by Jackie Wilson because it melts any bad feelings and is in one of my favorite movies, The Kid.
What’s the most useless talent you have?
My most useless talent is that I am pretty good at whistling and can whistle while blowing out and breathing in!
If you could shrink any animal to puppy-size, what animal would you own?
If I could have any animal the size of a puppy it would be a sloth because I’d only have to clean up its poop once a week.
