What is your favorite part about being a part of the BulldogCatholic community?
My favorite part of being part of the bulldog catholic community is having access to adoration.
Why did you choose UMD for college?
I came to UMD’s Newman campus because of the strong traditional faith and community. I go to CSS because they offer a well known nursing program.
Why should someone come to a Bulldog Catholic event?
One should come to a Bulldog Catholic event if they are interested in growing or supporting their faith with their peers.
What would you tell a high school senior looking for the right college?
College is not all about getting your degree. It is about growing as an adult in a relationship with God, family, and friends.
What is the biggest lesson that you have learned while in college?
Being catholic in college is hard— staying true to your belief in making good choices may make you feel wrong in the moment. However, in the long run you will be happier with the positive choices and life you will have.
Who is your favorite Saint and quote from them?
My favorite saint is Saint Bernadette. “I shall spend every moment loving. One who loves does not notice her trials; or perhaps more accurately, she is able to love them. I shall do everything for Heaven, my true home. There I shall find my Mother in all the splendor of her glory. I shall delight with her in the joy of Jesus himself in perfect safety”-Saint Bernadette
What has been your favorite memory in college?
Once long ago I made popcorn in one of the main CSS school buildings late into the evening. Me being a fresh naive young freshman I burned my popcorn. The bag started to plum smoke! Of course I ran with all my might to throw it outside! In my second poor decision I threw it into the garbage outside. Then all was well. Thankfully the fire alarms did not go off. And don’t worry the garbage can did not start on fire. From this favorite college memory Emily, my dear friend, is now my designated popcorn maker. With Emily’s skills there have been no more smoky experiences.
If you had a pet monkey what would you name him? Why?
Steve, because I named my plant, car, and everything Steve.
